My paintings, which I like to call ?Liquidscapes?, are a representation of how I respond to both internal and external stimuli.  They are statements of my energy and mood, imagination and dreams, reality and the surreal.  These canvases are my outlets to make light of the paranoia that ails me: "trickle-down" family disease and the uncontrollable dis-ease of being human.  They also provoke fantasies and enchant me - keeping me healthy.  My method is spontaneous and impulsive, yet efficient.  I paint fine lined edges (free hand ? no airbrush or stencils of any kind) to create motion out of stillness, many layers to allude to real depth of space, and vibrant colors to beautify the subject of agitated blood cells, toxic fluids, strange juice, parasites and germs.  My purpose for these oil paintings is not only to act as therapy for myself, but to also bring good visual energy to other people.  My goal is to taunt, entice, and capture the viewer, hoping that someone will step away with heightened energy, deeper thoughts and an overwhelming itch to create and contemplate.

*In 2002 Tirey received her MFA from the Ohio State University in painting and drawing, and has exhibited in numerous solo and group shows dating back to1995. She currently serves on several community boards, including ROY G BIV and the Ohio Art League.
